Add QR Codes / Scannable barcode to Digital Membership Cards
complete
Leah Pelkey
As an Organization, I'd like to offer the ability to scan a barcode off the Digital Membership Cards provided by Join It.
Editor's Note: This request was previously coupled with another request for printing Digital Membership Cards that have a barcode -- this has now been separated and linked below.
Related Requests:
* Print Membership Cards - https://feedback.joinit.org/feature-requests/p/print-membership-cards
* Ability to Check-in Members - https://feedback.joinit.org/feature-requests/p/check-in

here is a very good third party application that Join It customers can use to scan your QR codes: https://www.codereadr.com/

Hi team!
For Organization's on our Total and Extra Package, we've added the ability to include QR Codes on the Digital Membership Cards.
These QR Codes open a check-in page for a 'check-in' to be added to the Membership Record.
Here's a quick demo video that I recorded on the topic: https://www.loom.com/share/375f6ce11380415baf66aee9c2725e45
And while we're on the topic of 'Check-in', we've just started a project for improving the Reporting of Check-ins.
As always, let us know if you have any comments or feedback!

Hi team!
I'm excited to announce that we're very close to a public launch on this new feature!
Within the next week, we'll have the ability for Organizations to add QR Codes to their Digital Membership Cards (https://www.joinit.org/member-settings/cards -- and if you haven't seen the most recent customization panel, then it's worth a look!).
Ahead of the launch, let us know if you have any questions or comments!
Sincerely,
Mitch

Mitch Colleran: Is this available yet? and will it be possible to run reports on the checkins? Thanks
Mitch Colleran
Alex Kale: Hi Alex!
Sorry, I missed this notification!
Yes, this functionality is now available - I recorded this quick video that goes over some of the functionality: https://www.loom.com/share/375f6ce11380415baf66aee9c2725e45

planned
Hi everyone!
After deeper investigation and research, I'm excited to move this to 'Planned' today.
When it comes to some requests, it's difficult to capture the broad range of potential implementations -- and the same request can mean different things to different organizations.
So here's our goals for this first version:
* Add a QR code to Digital Membership Cards
* Upon scanning QR code with a QR-enabled scanner (e.g. the camera app on your iPhone works for this), open a webpage that displays the Membership
* From this opened page, allow for a "Check In" to be recorded (https://feedback.joinit.org/feature-requests/p/as-an-org-admin-i-want-to-be-able-to-check-in-my-members)
This Package of features (customized Digital Membership Cards, Check Ins, QR codes) will be available on the Total Package.
As always, let us know if you have any questions, comments, or feedback!

Mitch Colleran: For our organisation the most important feature for QR code scanning is to show the membership status of the person (I.e. active / expired, etc.). Please ensure implementation of this feature as well. It can simply show the membership status somewhere on the page.

@western-australia-airsoft-club-inc: Thanks for that feedback!
Confirmed that the page that's opened up by the QR code will show the most up-to-date status!
Additionally, we recently improved the Digital Membership Cards to receive push updates when a Membership expires -- so in most cases moving forward, you'll see the Digital Membership Cards reflecting the most up-to-date Status as well. 🙂

Yes, just a barcode based on the ID number. That would be amazing.

We would be super keen to utilise a barcode or QR code thats specific to each member in order to check in at an event or facility but also to allow them to borrow books from our library so reminders for return can be automated.

We currently already do this, we use "Badgy 200" card printer, simple and easy to use

Teal Megaphone: So how do you trace it back to the membership database so it's easy to check it the member is still active?
