Preserve Dropdown Field Data When Editing Profiles

We would like to request an improvement where dropdown field selections remain unchanged unless they are intentionally modified by the user. This will ensure that users can edit other profile fields without losing existing dropdown data.

Yes please. I had no idea it wouldn't keep data from a drop down list. It makes use of drop down field useless (for example) using it to capture what country a member is from a drop down which makes it easier for data entry, exporting and reporting. I will have to revert to a text box as that seems to be the only way of it not removing the data when a member profile is in edit mode?? :( thanks
